(Don’t) Tremble.

I cannot stop listening (and trembling) to The Low Anthem’s latest album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. Like most things sturdy and plain, these songs remind me of my rustic Dakota upbringing. From the haunting loneliness of “Charlie Darwin” to the communal church-style chorus of “OMGCD”, this album will make you want to flush your cell phone down the toilet, pack a knapsack, and move on west. You could plant grain on this album. You could build a house on this album. Hell, you could settle down and start a family on this album. Maybe that’s why they call it roots music.

Check out their upcoming CD releases in New York and beyond.
